 The project entailed the design and construction of an Extension at First Floor Level over the existing Family Room. The contractor had to take great care with this construction to ensure that the ground floor Family Room with its Oak Beamed ceiling was fully protected from the elements and from a security aspect during the construction particularly when the existing pitched tiled roof was removed at a later stage of the works. One difficulty with this project was at the South West corner of the building where the design had to incorporate a cantilever effect using structural steelwork beams built into the cavity wall to carry the corner at this point and not to encroach in any way on the conservatory. The finished project resulted in a extension which enhanced this substantial Georgian Style House and which the clients were extremely pleased with. The value of this property was considerably increased.
